HOW TO JOIN FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

We believe God is actively at work among our people in this Church. If you are seeking a Church home and desire to be nurtured in the faith as well as challenged to live out your faith and share it with others, we welcome you to make inquiries with either Rev. Minihan, or any of our Church elders.

We believe Church membership is very serious. Therefore we encourage our members to be faithful in worship, charitable in their giving, and generous in love and commitment to God and to each other. In a world where people are increasingly looking for meaning and belonging we remember our Lord Jesus' words "For God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). We seek to reflect God's love through Jesus Christ here at First Presbyterian.

Persons who have been previously baptized may join First Presbyterian either by letter of transfer from their previous Church, or by reaffirmation of faith. Persons not previously baptized may join by profession of faith and by being baptized. In all cases those wishing to join will be asked to participate in a New Member's Class led by Rev. Minihan. This class will encompass three parts; "Mere Christianity;" "Presbyterian Particulars;" and "Our Life At First Presbyterian." Children are expected to complete a Communicant's Class prior to joining the Church.
